JWST3000 Loyola Marymount University The Arab Question Article Analysis I need a Primary source analysis on the Ben-Gurion section of the pdf I attached. I also attached a document showing the instructions to complete the assignment. Maybe like 1-2 good secondary sources would be helpful to add some other insight to the analysis. The Jabotinsky part of the pdf is not necessary for the assignment. Primary Source Analysis: Students will write three essays of 3-4 pages,
double-spaced, analyzing one of the documents listed for that class date
in the assignments schedule. The analysis will answer the following
questions:
• What is the historical context in which the document was created? (approx.
400 words)
• Who was the author? What do you know about him or her?
• What do you know about the intended audience? How did the audience
influence the way the author chose to write the document?
• Why did the author create this document? What did he or she hope to
accomplish?
• How can this document shape our understanding of history? In other words,
what does it teach us as historians? Students will write in their
own words, avoiding quotations and close paraphrase. Ideas
borrowed from class materials will be cited by author’s last name
and page number. For example, to cite the textbook, you would
write (Brenner, p. xxx). Class lecture notes are cited with the
instructor’s last name and the date of the lecture (Feinstein
month/day/year). The purpose is to encourage engagement with
the class readings and to develop historical reasoning skills.
Evaluation is based on accuracy of the information presented,
depth of analysis, organization, and prose.
