the Minister of education “Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh” is coming as a chief guest.
You are working as a personnel officer at Advanced Step International School, Riyadh and The Board
of school committee was giving you the responsibility for anchoring the whole event.
Now, as an Anchor, you must prepare the draft for anchoring of the 25th Foundation Day Q1.
You must start the event with a short speech in which:
1- You introduce your school, provide a short history, and academic achievement it has
accomplished.

Then you request your chief guest to come to the podium and speak to the audience.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh, members of the board, other
distinguished guests, teachers, parents, and students, good morning? I take this opportunity to
welcome all of you and salute you for making this special occasion. The primary objective of our
convention here today is to celebrate the 25th foundation day, which marks the far we have come as a
school. All of you have contributed in one way or another towards the greatness of this institution,
and your contribution cannot be taken for granted.
Riyadh school was founded in the 1990s as a small learning institution that offered basic
courses. The school was opened with the aim of boosting access to basic education for the
surrounding communities. The school started with just five teachers, and it offered only a few
courses. As a school, we faced many challenges, especially inadequate funding from the government.
The school required urgent infrastructural development by that time because the number of students
enrolled kept on rising every term and year. The demand for extra classrooms, furniture, and other
learning facilities kept on rising to an extent the school was forced to construct temporal structures to
accommodate the rising student population. However, the continued efforts to seek more funding and
improvement of the facilities from the government bored fruits. Today, our school is well equipped
with all the modern learning facilities. The number of staff members was also increased, and the
student population increased even further.
Dear ladies and gentlemen, I want to assure you that Riyadh school is on the map of Saudi
Arabia because of academic excellence. The school has been posting recommendable results over the
years, and these results keep on improving year by year. From 2015, we have been among the top
schools from this region in terms of academic excellence. Other schools in this region have kept on
visiting Riyadh school for benchmarking to improve their performance. For the past ten years, our

transition from secondary to university has stood at 90% and above. This implies that our teachers
are doing a fantastic job to ensure that all our students don’t come out of this school empty-handed.
The alumni of Riyadh school are great members in both the public and private sectors. This school
has produced engineers, doctors, politicians, permanent secretaries, professors, lawyers, recognized
entrepreneurs, among other respected people. As you can all see, our students continue to flourish
out there after leaving this school. The victory of our students in various fields is a victory to us all,
and we are very proud of that. Honestly, our exemplary academic performance makes thousands of
students to prefer coming to this school. The only challenge is that we don’t have a space to
accommodate all of them.
Our dear teachers, parents, and students, I now take this golden opportunity to welcome our
chief guest of the day. Our chief guest today is Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh, who is our
minister for education. Dr. Hamad has been an advocator for basic and quality education for this
country for a long time. He has played a key role in policymaking, curriculum development, and
bringing reforms in our education. At this point, I request all of you to stand up as our chief guest
comes to the podium to address us. Welcome, Dr. Hamad.
