identification of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that are related to their internal
and external business conditions. In the healthcare setting, SWOT analysis is designed for the
utilization of the decision-making process in matters related to the provision of healthcare. It can
also be used for the assessment of the strategic position of the healthcare organization. By
gathering and analyzing data for the completion of SWOT analysis at Apollo CVHF Hospital in
Arlington, Virginia, it will be practical to establish the competitive advantage, limitations,
favorable, and unfavorable internal and external factors to the achievement of the healthcare

Weaknesses
In SWOT analysis, the W stands for the weaknesses of the organization. Walston
(2018) asserts that weaknesses are the limitations, faults, or defects that prevent healthcare
organizations from achieving their objectives. These are the factors that indicate the lack of
expertise in the organization, the benefit that rivals have over an organization, lack of strategic
direction in the organization, and the need for improvement in the organization. The first
weakness is the high costs associated with the provision of cardiac care at Apollo CVHF
Hospital in Arlington, VA. Being a for-profit healthcare organization, the hospital charges a
