Professional Ethics
I have analyzed the relationship between academic integrity and writing, as well as the
relationship between professional practices and scholarly ethics. I have also identified
strategies I intend to pursue to maintain integrity and ethics of my academic work while
a student of the MSN program, as well as my professional work as a nurse throughout

Response
Academic integrity is required in writing since the content and sources are supposed to
be effective in the implementation as required (Kidwell 2001). Academic writing is
supposed to be genuine and not plagiarized and that is considered good and quality.
Academic integrity must ensure that better strategies are followed for academic
integrity. The sources authors must be acknowledged and given credits as required.
Professional practices go hand in hand with scholarly ethics (McCabe & Pavela, 2000).
There should be maintenance of good ethics in the professional context to ensure that
strategic interventions are followed for reduction of the risks. Based on the needed
approaches and governance techniques, the professional standards are supposed to
observe ethics just like scholarly ethics (McCabe & Pavela, 2000). Quality is necessary
in the promotion of better interventions and strategic approaches for quality and
comprehensive measures (McCabe & Pavela, 2000). The law is the same and it is
required that better measures are followed for quality and effective interventions as
required.
PART 2: Strategies for Maintaining Integrity of Work
Expand on your thoughts from Part 1 by:

Response
While pursing MSN program, I will ensure that better strategies are applied in the
control of plagiarism. Based on the strategic measures, I will always ensure that better
approaches are followed and better measures are followed as necessary. I will refrain
from copying of assignments and other materials to ensure that genuine processes are
implemented. Strategically, I will ensure that quality is implemented and strategic
approaches implemented to reduce the cases of academic irregularities.
In the research program of MSN program, I will ensure that I acknowledge the good
professionals who had published the sources. In the online platform, I will take the

My approach to identifying the peer-reviewed articles starts at Google.com. While many
may tend to think that this is a simplistic approach, I believe that it gives me a basic
understanding of the specific sites where I will need to go to so as to narrow down the
scope of the articles that I will be looking for. For example, when looking for the current
article used in this research, I started by googling recent journal articles on adult
gerontology primary care. The search brought about many suggestions, which I then
pursued further to get better and more relevant articles.
The first strategy that I use to find effective peer-reviewed research is to use keywords,
phrases, and subject headings that are directly related to the current topic. Keywords
help in narrowing down to articles that are relevant and credible. The second strategy
that I use is to specify the exact measure that I want for my articles. Specifically, I filter
the search results based on how old the article is, whether it is peer-reviewed, and the
specific journals in which it has been published. This way, it becomes possible for me to
get only relevant and credible articles.
A resource that I am planning to use in the future is EBSCOhost. This resource has a
broad database of articles from all fields, and I believe that it will be indispensable in my
future research. Moreover, it offers the user better control on how to filter the search
results so that one can only get the specific kind of articles that he or she is looking for.
