Ticketing bots are a serious issue that is affecting all aspects of the ticketing
industry. This issue all stemmed from a man named Ken Lowson, he was once
known as one of the greatest ticketing scalpers ever. From 2001-2010 Mr.Lowson
and his company bought and resold 2.5 million tickets, which turned out to be
more than $25 million in profit. He claimed all his success through ticketing bots
which is the automated process of purchasing tickets via the web. The ticketing
bots bet all the best tickets before any human buyers can, and then they put
them up for resale on other websites.

When it comes to ticketing bots there are no positives for the industry or
any humans trying to purchase tickets legally online. One of the many
negatives of this issue is that these bots are taking away potential
revenue from sites like Ticketmaster from human buyers. Another
negative is that many people buy tickets from secondary markets and
unfortunately it is not an authentic ticket and they are left with an empty
pocket and no entry into the event. All and all there are way more
negatives when it comes to the issue of ticketing bots than there are
positives.
