On the last day of each unit, you will be given a prompt regarding a concept or multiple concepts
from class discussions and/or course readings. This will be available in Canvas by 11:59 pm on
those days. Answer the prompt using the following grading criteria.
1. 10 points-Your WA must be between 350 and 400 words. Do not go under or over this
word count at all (not even by one word).
2. 5 points-You must state your thesis argument within the first three sentences.
Significantly more points will be deducted if there is no discernible thesis statement.
3. 5 points-You must put your thesis argument in bold.
4. 5 points-Your document must be formatted as follows:
a. 12 pt. font
b. Times New Roman
c. Double spaced
5. 10 points-You must use proper grammar and syntax. I expect this to be well written
given you have already completed your writing classes.
6. 65 points-The content of your assignment will be graded on the following criteria
a. Your description of the theme is accurate.
b. You answer the question in an expansive, clear manner with only relevant
information.
c. You display a further step in critical thinking and go beyond the obvious. Be
creative (in your thoughts, not your writing)! Be daring!
d. You have incorporated my feedback. Failure to do so will result in a severe loss
of points.
