worm that spread rapidly through across a number of computer networks in May of 2017. After
infecting a Windows computers, it encrypts files on the PC’s hard drive, making them impossible

o Hackers have developed techniques and methods of attacking Windows operating
system in pursuit for payment in terms of ransom.
o Cybersecurity issue was dealt with by the Department of Homeland Security
(DHS) following the incident on 9th/11 attack, until a major attack happened in
May 2017 caused by the WannaCry ransomware cryptoworm.

The Purpose Statement: To examine and discuss the Ransomware attack WannaCry and
how it affected a number of computer networks across the globe.
