1st Set of Journal Entries

Directions: You are to type a full page for each topic given. There are no right or wrong answers as this is simply a “Writing to Learn” assignment. It serves to give you extra practice in writing and help with your critical thinking skills. (Journal Entries will count as 20% of your overall grade.)

1. Tell some things about yourself that no one could tell just by looking at you.

No one could tell that I am nice…many people say that I am mean only because I look mean, but when they get to know me then they tell me that I am the nicest and/or I am one of the nicest people that they’ve ever met.

2. What if you found out that you were switched at birth?

If I found out that I was switched at birth, I would be upset; however, the type of family that my mother have, I’d welcome another family at any instant.

3. Is it okay to do the wrong thing for the right reason?

No it is not okay to do the wrong thing for the right person.

4. You have three wishes…

I wish that my brother was here with me and that I could tell him how much I love him. My brother and I were two peas in a pod, double-trouble growing up, and I was his big sister and protector. I wish that I could go back to the age of at least 18 and start over…do things differently and in by doing that, maybe I’d be financially stable by now, have a career by now, and have already gotten my Masters and Ph.D. already. I started out late and it seems as though things are a struggle trying to get there.

I wish that I’d not allow my mother to be so dependent upon me, that we had a better relationship (mother daughter relationship)…my mother feels like one of my aunts that I don’t really want to be around…well I don’t care to be around any of my aunts at all, but my mother just makes it so very hard to sit around her at times…I can’t say anything to her without getting fussed at, cursed at, I have to pick my words around her.

5. You found a million dollars on your way to work/class…

If I found a million dollars on my way to work/class…there is a saying in the entrepreneur’s world…I would call in well. Most people call in sick, but I would call in well. It’s been well. I would open a daycare for children and an adult daycare and take a few trips. I wouldn’t spend excessively because when you don’t have money a million dollars is very easy to spend all up.

All entries are to be at least a full-page typed and saved as a word document. The format for all journal entries, as well as your essays is Size 12 font, Times New Roman, and double spaced. (All journal entries will be turned in to me as an email attachment only after we have completed them all this session. There will be a total of 20 entries.)

1. Should parents be charged if their children commit a crime?

I would want to be stranded with my brother. He is so knowledgeable many things, especially survival….

1. If you found out that the world was ending tomorrow, what would you do today?

If I found out that the world was ending tomorrow I would definitely make sure that I’ve got my business fix with the Lord and everyone else that’s close to me I will make sure that they have their business fixed as well.

4. If I had known then what I know now, I never would have ______.

If I had known then what I know now, I never would have moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue fashion design school right after college. I allowed obstacles get in my way. I allowed my mother to depend on me so much. I allowed the thoughts of I had always protect my brother and be my brothers’ keeper.
