I don’t understand this English question and need help to study.

The first assignment due Jul 10th.

“At the end of the semester you will create an argument about whether we as a culture should celebrate a holiday of your choosing. This week you’ll start this process by writing a proposal.

What to Do

1. Consider the holidays that you know. Next, pick a holiday that you’d like to make an argument about. You might consider a holiday that this culture celebrates wrongly or shouldn’t celebrate at all, or you might think of a holiday that this culture doesn’t celebrate but should.
2. Write a body paragraph of no fewer than three hundred (300) but no more than four hundred (400) words to establish your position about that holiday and convince me that you should develop your argument further. In this proposal, you’re making a shorter version of the argument you’ll be developing over the next few weeks; you’ll be explaining why this culture should or should not celebrate (or should celebrate differently) the holiday you’ve chosen.
3. This proposal must include quotations from at least two (2) sources to support your position. Remember to use the “quotation sandwich” to embed the quotes into your paragraph; further, please cite your sources with in-text citations and Works Cited entries following the MLA conventions. Considering the time constraints for this assignment, I’d suggest shorter sources, but keep in mind that you have a longer project that you’ll be working on for the next few weeks; you might consider looking at one or two longer sources with that in mind as we continue.
4. Because it’s a body paragraph, the proposal should follow the TETS pattern as closely as possible. This will help you communicate more effectively with your academic audience (me).

“This assignment should help you practice the next steps on the way to composing your final essay.

What to Do

1. Create an outline, based on the model that you’ve seen in this module, for your final essay. Think of the first sentence in your outline as the essay’s thesis statement and each following sentence of the outline as a topic sentence for a body paragraph in your essay. Remember to help yourself by starting each of these topic sentences with a transition just the way you would start a sentence of evidence in a paragraph. Remember also that your final essay might have more than three body paragraphs; thus, you might include more than three topic sentences in your outline.
2. Write a single body paragraph of not fewer than three hundred (300) and not more than four hundred (400) words to expand the outline you’ve just created. Try to add two or three (2-3) sentences of explanation for each of the paragraph’s points of evidence.

When you’ve completed this assignment, you’ll have a fairly detailed sketch of your final essay that you can work on in next week’s assignment.”

Third assignment due July 24th

“What to Do

1. Look again at the paragraph you wrote last week; if you check “Grades,” you should find that assignment with my annotations and comments.
2. Notice the structure of that paragraph. Particularly, think about each sentence of evidence as the topic sentence of an essay’s body paragraph.
3. Write a body paragraph of no fewer than three hundred (300) and no more than four hundred (400) words for each of those topic sentence. In other words, use each evidence sentence of last week’s paragraph to form a new and separate paragraph. If your outline last week followed the Rule of Three, you should have three paragraphs; if last week’s paragraph included more than three sentences of evidence, then you will write more than three paragraphs.
4. Remember that each paragraph should follow the TETS pattern.
5. Remember that each paragraph should include at least two (2) sentences of explanation for each point of evidence.

I agree that this seems like a great deal of writing, but when you’ve completed this assignment you will have completed a first version of the body of your final essay. Having this version to look at can save you time and effort as you work on that project next week.”

Fourth assignment due Aug 1st

this is the Final Essay and will be an accumulation of all the prior assignments! Once more info is available about the “Final Essay”, I will provided that to the tutor!
